My family and I visited a lot of the Smithsonian museums on our recent trip to Washington, D.C., and the National Museum of American History was one of my favorites. Let me tell you why.
This is Martha Washington’s Inauguration outfit. What they say is true; she really was tiny! Even I could fit in this and I’m only 5 foot! I reallllyyyyy wish I could have put the dress on!!! (Sorry, I must have been moving in this picture) Also, All the First Lady’s inauguration dresses were there. (Except Melania Trump’s)
We also saw General Washington’s army uniform.
That’s my brother Lincoln, (On my left) And my brother Matthew. (On my right) There was also a podium where you could say FDR’s famous speech, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself” My sister Addison was really getting into the role, as she imitated Trump’s famous expression!
I really recommend this museum, if you’re planning to stop by D.C or if you’re lucky enough to live there or close to there. There are some pretty cool artifacts and just plain facts I bet you didn’t know!
